Miss Fortunes Fool’s speed, style and grace captivated American barrel racing fans when she earned the title of 2007 BFA World Champion under Lance Graves. The stunning gray daughter of leading sire Dash Ta Fame and out of WR Cassia by Casady Casanova was just getting warmed up.

Thanks to her star power, regal genetics and equally as impressive performance record, Miss Fortunes Fool has grabbed headlines not only in the arena, but now in the marketplace. Partners Dale Rankin and Fernando Costa disclosed the details of Miss Fortunes Fool’s recent sale to Barrel Horse News.
Rankin explained the logic behind selling the once-in-a-lifetime horse.
“We sold several embryos from the mare," Rankin said, "and after long discussions with my partner, Fernando Costa, of Brazil, we decided to sell the mare at the July 18 sale at this year's National Finals in the city of Avare, Sao Paulo. We made this decision because several people had approached us wanting to buy the mare so we decided to offer her to the market through the WV Sale Company at Nationals. We were quite pleased with the result—the mare brought a record high price for a barrel horse sold in Brazil, $356,000 in U.S. funds ($624,000 in Brazilian currency). The new owner is Osmar Dias, and he will use the mare for breeding and competition.”
The complete story on this record setting sale and more on Miss Fortunes Fool will appear in the September issue of Barrel Horse News. In the meantime, however, you can catch a glimpse of the excitement surrounding Miss Fortunes Fool sale via the WV Leiloes' sale company's website here: http://www.wvleiloes.com.br/2010/noticias_mostras.php?id=410.
